Does “Schrödinger” Give You Anxiety?

Erwin Schrödinger and his equation are what they are. But, like me, have you realized that the word “Schrödinger” makes you uncomfortable? After many years, I have now cracked the code. Figure 1 below illustrates why.

So, yeah. It is the “:O” face that’s right there in his name that triggers your anxiety. Definitely not the fact that you might have spent countless sleepless nights learning to do Schrödinger gymnastics. This conclusion was reached after peer-review on a group chat of Physics PhD candidates that won this work 6 positive “reacts”, as shown in Figure 2.

Although I do not have much data on what is to follow (yet), this discovery might also explain why older generations unaccustomed to emojis were more productive with research in their day.
